NICU and Beyond…

What a journey!
From being a mum of a premature baby on the Neonatal Unit to seven years later writing and illustrating my own story.

Since my book Looking Through the Plastic was launched in October 2025 it has been distributed to every single Neonatal unit in the North East of England.

As can be seen by the image of my “Champion Tree” so many incredible organisations have championed the book sharing it throughout the North East of England.

These include; Tiny Lives, NORNET, Waterstones Newcastle and Sunderland, Team Evie, National Literacy Trust- Middlesbrough, Health Innovation and Super Dinky!

I am so grateful for all the involvement of these incredible organisations that truly care and want to make a difference to families lives.

My dream is that every NICU family in the United Kingdom will be able to access this book.

Since I have launched the book in hospitals in the North East I have been commissioned to:

• Illustrate families on the NICU

• Facilitate and lead creative workshops.

• Speak at conferences and events regarding my experience and the creation of my book.
